Global Village is back for its 26th season and fittingly will re-open on October 26 and run ntil April 10, 2022.
Global Village is one of the most-visited attractions in the year and despite Covid, still welcomed 4.5 million people last season.
The huge event has increased in size and scale every year. And with this year also being the Expo 2020 Dubai year, expect Global Village to be even bigger and better when it returns in October.
Last year they celebrated their 25th anniversary by breaking 25 Guinness World Records, And they’re again looking for people to get involved with more records – you have until August 1 to pitch them your idea!
Maybe you could try and break this recent world record for stacking M&Ms!
World’s deepest swimming pool opens in Dubai holding 14 million litres of water
There’s plenty to do before Global Village opens, however.
How about going for a swim in the deepest swimming pool in the world? Holding 14 million litres of water and with a depth of 60m, Deep Dive Dubai is now officially the deepest pool in the world and opens this July.
Holding the equivalent of six Olympic-sized swimming pools, Deep Dive Dubai is a stunning new swimming and diving pool.
It’s basically an abandoned underwater city. The sunken city includes ‘ an abandoned streetscape, apartment, garage, and arcade.’ All of which can be explored while free diving or scuba diving.
The huge pool is packed with areas to explore. And it’s also covered with 56 underwater cameras so you’re always in view.
And the water is kept at 30 degrees, so you’ll be toasty warm while exploring. Bills!
