Good news for Brits as UAE finally added to the ‘Amber’ travel list

It’s the news all Brits have been waiting for as the UAE has finally been added to the UK’s Amber Travel list.

The UAE has been on the UK’s Red List for months, meaning travellers had to pay around AED9,000 to quarantine in designated hotels.

But now travellers between the UAE and UK can quarantine at home for 10 days as we’re now on the Amber list. Or pay for the ‘Test to Release’ scheme to end your quarantine early.

So while it’s still not straightforward to travel between the UAE and the UK, it just got a lot easier and cheaper. You can find all the rules and regulations to follow here.

The restrictions change at 7 am UAE time on August 8, so get those flights booked if you want to see loved ones this summer!

If you are flying back, you’ll need to do the following.

  1. Take a PCR test within three days before arriving to England
  2. Book and pay for a Covid test before you travel to England.
  3. Enter details of your test in the passenger locator form.

Then once you’re in England, you’ll have to follow these rules.

  1. Quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 days
  2. Take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 and on or after day 8
  3. You can book a private test on the ‘test to release’ scheme after 5 days of quarantine

Emirates are currently running a reduced number of flights to London, Birmingham and Manchester. But we expect the number of flights to increase as the demand comes in.
