Dubai’s homegrown festival, Groove On The Grass is ending its seventh season with a bang, hosting drum and bass legends Rudimental live and dance music quartet 808 State on Friday, 19th April.
Rudimental returning to Dubai
It might sound hard to believe, but it’s been five years since Rudimental first clocked their first hit single, with “Feel The Love.” Since then, they’ve been responsible for some of the most catchiest drum and bass and pop electronica crossovers, with hits like “These Days,” “Waiting All Night,” “Sun Comes Up,” “More Than Anything” and their chart-busting hit, “Lay It All On Me” with Ed Sheeran. They’re no strangers to our city, having performed last New Year’s Eve.
808 State bringing back the ‘80s hits to Groove On The Grass
If you haven’t heard of 808 State by name yet, you’ve almost certainly heard their tracks. The house veterans were one of the most promising new faces to emerge in electronic music in the ‘80s, receiving hype and acclaim after releasing tracks like “Pacific State,” “In Yer Face,” “Cubik,” “Plan 9” and “Azura.” Two decades on, and the band can, without a doubt, get everyone dancing to their infectious tunes.
Local and international line-up
What’s more, the local EDM festival will play host to a live set by American DJ Bill Patrick. The NYC-born DJ is a man of many accolades, having performed at renowned nightclubs like The Limelight, Vinyl & Arc, and is a firm fixture in the festival circuit. Also, the festival will host sets by local talents, including Hollaphonic, Shadi Megallaa and Maat playing b2b with Stu Todd.
