Despite an early onslaught from Marlon Moraes in the opening round, Henry Cejudo made an impressive comeback with a barrage of ground and pound strikes that saw the Brazilian fighter exhausted, forcing referee Marc Goddard to stop the fight with nine seconds of the third round remaining.

Surprising, isn’t it? The combat athlete pulled off a historic win despite a sprained left ankle before the fight. He said, “I was fighting adversity. I sprained my left ankle. I couldn’t do much, but I still wanted to fight. I taped it up and stuck to it.” He also talked about losing the opening round to Moraes. He said, “It was all desire. I knew Marlon was throwing a lot of power. And I knew that when you throw that much power, you’re going to get burned.”
