Dubai ruler helps fallen cyclist

HH Sheikh Mohammed turns hero and rescues long-distance cyclist

Announcing far-reaching national policy one day, saving a fallen cyclist the next. It’s all in a day’s work for HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Changing gears

The accident happened during the Al Salam Championship. The 50km amateur bike race took place on Al Qudra Cycling Track and featured 40 female riders.

Sheikh Mohammed was in one of the lead vehicles when he spotted Emirati cyclist Anan Al Amri suddenly veer off the road after hitting a sand drift.

The accident took down several cyclists in a nasty-looking accident. Sheikh Mohammed and his entourage quickly rushed to help, getting both riders back on their bikes. The Dubai ruler was also on hand with a tissue to help with a cut to the rider’s chin.

As well as helping the riders back on their bikes, Sheikh Mohammed was also on hand to provide drinks and support for the cyclist.

Thankfully, it was reported that no serious damage was done and both riders were able to finish the race.

Then again, this isn’t the first time that Sheikh Mohammed has come to the rescue.
