High Chances Of A Four-Day Public Holiday In UAE This Eid

Saudi Arabia’s Moon Sighting Committee spotted the Dhu Al Hijjah moon this evening, 1st August, meaning Eid Al Adha will fall on 11th August in the UAE.

Typically, the UAE follows Saudi Arabia’s moon sighting committee. This evening, on observatory spotted the Dhu Al Hijjah moon, meaning Eid Al Adha will fall on Sunday, 11th August (ten days after the sighting).

Higher chances of a four-day public holiday

With Saudi Arabia’s moon sighting committee spotting the crescent moon, there are high chances of a four-day public holiday in the UAE, from Sunday, 11th-Wednesday, 14th August. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation are yet to announce, however.

Four more public holidays after Eid Al Adha

Hijri Islamic New Year will be the next public holiday, on Sunday, 1st September. UAE Commemoration Day holiday falls on Sunday, 1st December, leading to a two-day break for UAE’s 48th National Day. The long break goes on till Tuesday, 3rd December.
