The biggest heavyweight boxing match in history between Joshua and Fury is likely to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia this summer.
Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are due to face off as they battle to be the undisputed heavyweight world champion.
And Tyson Fury’s co-promoter Bob Arum has confirmed the deal is done and the fight will take place this summer in Jeddah.
The Joshua vs Fury fight is likely to take place indoors at a 20,000 capacity stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Middle East has always been the favourite destination for the big fight, with Dubai even being heavily tipped. But Saudi Arabia looks like it’s the winner of this fight.
“We have (site deal) contracts now that we are marking up and so forth,” Arum said. “It’s a big step. We’re just doing the paperwork now with the Saudis.” The deal is likely to be announced formally in the next few weeks. And Arum confirmed it was a ‘massive economic deal.”
Joshua has a history of fighting in Saudi. He beat Andy Ruiz Jr in a temporary outdoor stadium in 2019 to reclaim his belts.
And, according to Arum, the three possible dates for the heavyweight battle are July 24th, July 31st, Aug 7th.
Summer road trip to Jeddah anyone? (if you want to drive for 20 hours that is!)
