US rockers KISS are playing a huge show in Dubai on NYE and they’ve got AED3.5 million worth of pyrotechnics to blow up on stage.
KISS have already promised it will be the biggest New Year’s Eve show ever. And despite the pandemic, they’re following through on that promise.
The band have a crew of 400 people for their NYE show as they attempt to break the world record for the “largest-ever pyro display”.
While there won’t be an audience in the normal meaning of the world, you can book a hotel package at The Atlantis that overlooks the stage. And you can buy tickets to stream the show live. And let’s be honest, if you live within 5 miles of The Atlantis, you’re bound to see and hear their show as they light up the sky.
“I would recommend that low-flying planes not fly over the concert site. This is going to be big, as in Godzilla big,” bassist Gene Simmons told The National.
KISS are taking no chances with Coronavirus in Dubai, and are even flying in on their own private jet.
“We will come on this huge jet that’s going to be basically converted to private apartments,” Simmons says.
“So each of us are going to be inside our own cubicle. Nobody can get into it.
“In fact, the food is going to be put in through a portal, so we won’t even see the hand. It’s just going to kind of magically come through.
“So no one has to breathe the same air and all that.”
