The hotel scene in Dubai is about to get a massive upgrade, with the opening of some of Las Vegas’ iconic resorts, the MGM Grand, Bellagio and Aria.
Las Vegas’ MGM Grand, Bellagio and Aria opening in Dubai
As we all know, Las Vegas is a playground for some of the world’s biggest hotel chains. From mega resorts to boutique hotels and lavishly themed resorts.

And for a city that’s loaded with superlatives, like the world’s tallest building, the most expensive hotel, the world’s largest man-made island, it’s only fitting that these hotel chains expand to Dubai.
Construction begins at The Island
Brewer Smith Brewer Group (BSBG), a UAE-based
architecture firm is joining forces with Al Wasl Hospitality and Leisure for
this project. Construction begins at The Island, an upcoming island off the
coast of Umm Suqeim near Burj Al Arab. The massive project boasts 1,400 hotel
rooms, suites, and apartments, alongside dining and entertainment attractions. Check

In fact, the concept was unveiled to the Emir of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 2017. A lot has changed in the tourism industry since then, with the introduction of Dubai Frame, the Bluewaters Island, and Meraas’ line-up of family destinations.
Kevin Harper from BSBG finds The Island “highly complex, and hugely challenging from a design coordination perspective.”
Caesars Palace the first Las Vegas export in Dubai
MGM, Bellagio and Aria’s expansion to Dubai comes in the wake of Caesars Palace’s opening at Bluewaters last year. Their property plays host to 178 rooms with two outdoor swimming pools and six restaurants, with a 450-metre coast.
