Mad Box is done teasing. Less than a week after asking gamers about their take on the cool new gaming console design on social media, Slightly Mad Studios CEO Ian Bell has revealed the sleek new concept is ready for production.
Sleek upgrade for the console
Last week, Slightly Mad Studios CEO Ian Bell took to Twitter to share the initial design of their latest innovation, Mad Box. With help from his followers, the gaming newcomers upgraded the concept to a more dynamic console, with front-facing screen displays of the game being played and changes made on the overall shape. It isn’t the end product, however. Bell said, “The public have spoken and we’ve listened. This is the design we’re going with. It might be slightly amended over time… Thanks all for your responses which have helped to guide us.”
Literally, a ‘Mad’ console!
Gamers hoping to upgrade their console to a more advanced system may want to get their hands on Mad Box. CEO Ian Bell boasts about the console as equivalent to a “very fast PC two years from now.” Some of the most exciting features are that games will be cross-platform and available in 120fps (frames-per-second), be it the latest game on the block or a classic.
Mad Box production in the works
By the looks of the console and its specs, Mad Box seems to be more than gaming and could be the next rival to giants PlayStation and Xbox. Although Bell has been tight-lipped about the release, he revealed the console production is about to begin. In an interview with Comicbook, he said: “We’re in early talks with manufacturers of components so we can’t say much more right now other than we have the designs specced out in detail.”
