When asking the Senator if he could potentially face Floyd Mayweather in the Middle East, he said,

“Floyd has so many demands to bring the fight here, it’s giving the government and promoters a hard time”.

The boxing legend also mentioned, “We’re working on whoever my opponent is to bring the fight here [UAE]”.

Here’s what the man himself had to say:

In previous years, Amir Khan was mentioned as a prospective opponent for a fight in the UAE with the eight-weight world champion. However, that match-up never materialized.

A potential venue to host the fight could be the recently opened 17,000 capacity Coca Cola Arena in Dubai. The arena has seen big names such as Westlife, Tony Robbins, Maroon 5 and Russell Peters host major events since its inception in June 2019

The tournament also featured basketball pros like Davao Occidental Tigers star Mark Yee, former MBA star Chris De Jesus, University of the East standout Arnold Booker and many more.

“We came here to entertain them more than anything and I hope we were able to do so. I’m very thankful for their warm welcome and to the government of Dubai for their great hospitality.”
