More than 10,000 products will be discounted across 600 cooperatives and supermarkets in United Arab Emirates(UAE) during the holy month of Ramadan.
Discounts may vary from 25-50%
Consumer confidence will improve because of discounts encouraging consumers to spend more. From the 10,000 products to be discounted, their discount rate may vary between 25 to 50%. It’s expected that there will be products sold at cost price.
Last month, Carrefour and Lulu hypermarkets announced slash in prices for over 2,000 goods to mark International Day of Happiness, which took place on March 20th. Products are currently sold at discounted rates till 20th April. Besides hypermarkets, up to 7,500 items across supermarkets and groceries are being sold at discounted rates.
Several weekend shopping sales took place last year.
Malls across the country attracted crowds in large numbers because of its discounts and catch offers. Last November, the ‘Super Sale’ weekend witnessed up to 1,500 retailers providing discounts on brands like Centerpoint and Forever 21 up to 90%.
