Dubai is likely to see more rain in the coming days and weeks as the UAE starts its cloud-seeding flights.
With the foggy conditions and cloud cover, it’s the perfect time to start cloud-seeding and generate rainfall over the UAE.
And the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) confirmed via Twitter it’s started a new cloud-seeding campaign.
As forecast, there were rain clouds over the UAE at the weekend with rain reported over Ruwais, Umm Al Ashtan, Jebel Dhanna, Baniyas, Zirku Island and Arzanah Island.
The five-day forecast spells out the conditions even further, warning of rainy clouds over many coastal areas in the UAE.
Dubai uses cloud-seeding missions to generate rainfall for agriculture and to boost ground-water reserves.
Yemeni fishermen strike it rich with whale vomit find worth millions
Hopefully, the rainy weather helps the region’s fishermen get another amazing haul like this. A group of Yemeni fishermen are laughing all the way to the bank after they found a dead whale loaded with whale vomit which is worth more than gold.
Strange but brilliantly true!
Whale vomit is better known as ambergris and is used by high-end perfume makers as it helps the smell last longer.
The lucky fishermen spotted the whale’s floating body 30km out to sea in the Gulf of Aden. But unable to take the prized catch on their own, they got together a group of 37 fishermen who dragged the whale back to shore where they discovered just how rich they would be.
