Projects dealing with innovations and designs for the future can be developed at the newly launched ‘Area 2071’ zone, a hub for initiatives targeting the future.
Sheikh Mohammed inaugurated the hub
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of UAE inaugurated the hub along with Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai at Emirates Towers. Sheikh Mohammed described the zone as “a platform to implement the UAE’s model for future design”, according to Arabian Business. He also stated the zone will be a “key player in building the future.” He continued “It is an open laboratory to learn, develop ideas and experiences, and design the future, as well drafting a better future for humanity.”

‘Area 2071’ is part of Dubai’s Future Foundation
Headed by the Crown Prince, the foundation aims to shape the country’s future in strategic sections with cooperation between the government and with private companies. During the inauguration, Sheikh Mohammed praised Dubai Future Foundation’s works, which includes initiatives like Dubai 10x and Dubai Future Accelerators as well as projects like Museum of the Future and Dubai’s Autonomous Transportation Strategy.
Project is named after the centennial vision
Launched by the UAE Cabinet, the Centennial Vision 2071 aims to make UAE the best country in the world by the year 2071 to mark 100 years of the country. The five-decade plan has four components: Education, economy, government development and community cohesion.
