Dubai Holding’s key major group TECOM has announced a new permit for freelancers from the media and education industry in Dubai and it come’s at a relatively reasonable cost.
Freelancer visa costs Dhs 7,500
Obtaining for a freelance permit(worth Dhs 7,500) will sort out your freelance permit and access to a business centre. The TECOM team will provide help for visa application too if required. As of now, registrations for the permit can be applied through TECOM’s two business communities, Dubai Knowledge Park and Dubai Media City.
More than 60 professions are eligible for the permit
Freelancers from the education industry can obtain a permit from four options; eLearning advisor, executive coaching, researcher and trainer. Whereas, freelancers from the media industry can obtain a permit from the 60 options: actor, aerial shoot photographer, animator, artist, audio /sound engineer, brand consultant, cameraman, choreographer, commentators: radio, events, sports, television, composer, content provider, copywriter, creative director, critic: music, film, theatre, director: film, television, music, theatre, editor: audio/video/publishing, events planner, furniture designer, graphic designer, illustrator, journalist, lighting specialist, market analyst, marketing specialist, media planner, music director, musician, new media specialist, photographer, photojournalist, PR specialist, presenter TV/radio, print media specialist, producer, scriptwriter, set and exhibit designer, social media specialist, special effects producer, translator, wardrobe stylist, web developer, web designer and writer.
Ras Al Khaimah too introduced a freelance permit recently
Before TECOM, Ras Al Khaimah’s Economic Zone(RAKEZ) introduced a freelancer permit this April, which costs Dhs 8.990. With the permit, freelancers will be eligible to apply for a visa and have access to advanced IT infrastructure. Besides, Abu Dhabi’s twofour54 and Fujairah’s Creative City are providing freelancer visas too.
