Located between Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed road(E 311) and Emirates Road(E 611), the new Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan road will cover 25 kilometers with four lanes and was built at a cost of Dhs 474 million.
Traveling from Sharjah to Jebel Ali will be much easier.
Good news motorists! Traffic on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed road and on Emirates Road will be less of a burden now because the Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan road starts from the “outskirts of Sharjah up to Jabel Ali-Lehbab road,” Mattar Al Tayar, Director-general of the Roads and Transport Authority(RTA) said. The road will pass through areas including Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Sports City and Arabian Ranches leading to the Expo 2020 venue.
The road is named in honor of the Abu Dhabi royal.
While serving in the Presidential Guard in Yemen, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan was injured in a helicopter crash, which had a ‘technical failure’. The royal went through succesful medical treatment in Germany and was welcomed by UAE leaders, including Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed.
RTA is upgrading public transport to the Expo 2020 site too.
Works for the Route 2020, an extension Dubai Metro’s red line started last year in October and it will cover 15 kilometers, adding seven new stations starting from the Nakheel Harbour and Tower station. Part of the extension will be underground.
RTA’s upcoming roads and public transportation are being developed for smooth transport to and from the Expo 2020 site. For more information, go to www.rta.ae.
