Nike has just dropped their latest trainer – and it could be a game-changer as it’s their first hands-free shoe, the Nike Go FlyEase.
The hands-free shoes were announced last night by Nike with some seriously fancy promo and language.
The shoe’s ‘unique flexibility super-charges’ the action of kicking off a show and ‘reimagines this movement as the basis for accessible and empowering design.’ Which is seriously fancy, over-the-top language for a slip-on shoe.
Essentially, Nike Go FlyEase uses a hinge that opens and closes when you pull down on the heel.
Which is what lazy people have been doing for years, treading on the heel to yank the trainers off. But these have been specially designed for that purpose and so that people with disabilities can wear shoes more easily; they now don’t need to tie them or bend over to put them on.
And they look pretty fly too.
The ‘slip-on/slip-off’ trainers will be released to a select group of Nike members by invite before being officially released later this year for $120,
As you might expect, plenty of social media fans were excited about the new trainer drop.
Others, however, weren’t so wowed at the technology…
Jimmy Fallon was also quick to take credit for the shoes thanks to an idea he sent Nike several years ago.
