No More Thermal Checks Required In Dubai From 1st January

According to an announcement made today, thermal testing for COVID-19 will no longer be required in Dubai.

As of 1st of January 2021, thermal scanners or manual temperature checks will no longer be compulsory.

For the most part of 2020, thermal scanning was required upon entry at all enclosed public spaces such as events, shopping malls,  restaurants and workplaces.

Other Safety Protocols Remain In Place

As of the start of 2021 these temperature checks will no longer be required however, all other protocols remain in place such as the wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing and must be adhered to.

Dubai Economy also noted that valet parking protocols have also changed.

Covering the steering wheel with plastic when offering valet services at hotels and malls will now no longer be requirement come 1 January 2021.

Dubai Vaccination Program Underway

Dubai has an extensive vaccination campaign against Covid-19 which is underway, Since last week, the Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine is being administered and is free of charge to the public.
