‘Tis the season to be jolly, and there’s no shortage of events to keep you in the merry spirit! To add some festive cheer to your holidays, we’ve rounded up some of the top events in Dubai worth checking out this Christmas season.
The Laughter Factory Christmas Party
Where: The event has two venues on different dates in Dubai at the Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach and TRYP by Wyndham. You can also catch the show in Abu Dhabi at the Park Rotana
When: Wednesday 11th (Abu Dhabi), Thursday 12th and Friday 13th December (Dubai)
Timings: 8pm to 10pm

About: Take a break from the holiday madness and enjoy an entire night of laughs with The Laughter Factory’s Christmas edition. They’re bringing a trio of hilarious comics including Ireland’s top-rated comedian Chris Kent, UK funnyman Nathan Caton and award-winning star Sid Singh, promising an array of knee-slapping comedy and witty humour.
The UAE tour kicks off with Park Rotana Abu Dhabi this Wednesday, followed by Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach on Thursday and at TRYP by Wyndham on Friday. Click here for more details and tickets.
Timings: 3pm to late Sunday to Wednesday and from 12pm onwards on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the festive market will open at 12pm.
About: Back for an extended season, Souk Madinat Jumeirah’s popular Fort Island is transformed into a dreamy festive market with shopping, crafts, dining and all things Christmas
Celebrations kick off with “Santa’s Grotto,” where Santa will be giving presents to the little ones alongside meet-and-greets, followed by the Christmas tree lighting on Wednesday, 11th December featuring a high-spirited elf show and a choir performing live!
At last, the Festive Market takes over Fort
Island from Friday, 13th December till Saturday, 28th December featuring a
whole host of festivities, including 25 food and beverage outlets, snowball
zones, bungee jumping and a gingerbread house-making station.
About: With the winter season rolling in, it doesn’t get any better than to hit the beachfront, and The Walk JBR has plenty of reasons more to host beachgoers. For the first time, the tourist spot is home to an environment-friendly ice-rink totally free for visitors along with numerous activities like puzzles, a huge Rubik’s cube game, live performances by Santa Claus and holiday-themed characters.
Winter Wonderland Weekend & A QE2 Christmas
Where: The QE2, Port Rashid
When: Winter Wonderland Weekend: Thursday 13th – Saturday 14th December / A QE2 Christmas: Tuesday 24th December – Thursday 26th December
Ticket price: Variable depending on event
About: Quite literally, QE2 is going ‘all-out’ with a slew of back-to-back events through the festive season. From 12th December the historic cruise liner kicks off its Winter Wonderland Weekend, starting with pantomimes for the kids and a Christmas tree light switch on on 13th December. You can even enjoy live music with the Bee Gees Story. On the 14th December there will be a cosy Christmas market with complimentary access. A QE2 Christmas begins on Christmas Even with a Peter Pan-themed show followed by The Golden Lion pub serving a festive menu featuring select food and beverages at 50% off! About: There’s nothing quite like Christmas tree lighting and every year, The Irish Village Dubai puts on a stellar show with a gigantic pine tree along with festivities like carol singing, drinks and live performances.
