A cardboard cut out of Osama Bin Laden was spotted in the crowd at a Leeds United game in the English Championship earlier this week.

While football has resumed in the English leagues, all the matches are currently being played behind closed doors. And some teams, including Leeds, have put up a cardboard cut out team of supporters in the stands to help give the matches a bit more atmosphere.

Supporters could send in images of themselves to create the illusion they were there, with Leeds having 15,000 cardboard fans in the crowd.

But some went a lot further and sent in photos of famous people. And Osama Bin Laden.

Meaning the former Al Qaida leader who was killed in 2011, was looking down from the stands at Elland Roads, Leeds’ home ground.

The image was spotted on Twitter and quickly went viral.

Unsurprisingly, Leeds United were quick to act, saying they will “ensure there are no more offensive images” in the stands before Saturday’s game against Fulham.
