Music fans from around the UAE are prepping for the 17th edition of the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival, which is set to take place at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre from Wednesday, 20th February-Friday, 22nd February. Get to know the A-list lineup with our guide.

About: Northern-Irish rock sensations Snow Patrol have been a household name for music lovers since they burst on the scene in the late ‘90s. Three albums later, Gary Lightbody and his band, who reached the pinnacle of their musical career in the mid-‘00s, delivering hits like “Chasing Cars,” “Open Your Eyes,” “Hands Open,” and “Shut Your Eyes” from the album, ‘Eyes Open.’ Their success in the charts continued with songs like “Take Back The City,” “Called Out In The Dark” and “This Isn’t Everything You Are” at the turn of the decade. After a six-year absence, Snow Patrol returned to the scene with the 2018 album, ‘Wilderness’ and were the opening act for Ed Sheeran’s ÷ Tour in North America.

About: It’s probably fair to say listening to English jazz-funk band Jamiroquai was super cool in the ‘90s, after the worldwide massive hit, “Virtual Insanity.” The retro-funk classic alone won them a Grammy award, four MTV Video Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards and peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart. The band, led by Jay Kay, remained a mainstay in the charts with the success of their futuristic-funk sounds, like “Space Cowboy,” “Cosmic Girl,” “Canned Hat” and “Deeper Underground.” In 2017, the band reunited with their eighth album, “Automation” and made a comeback to last year’s Coachella, bringing back their electro-funk classics to the stage.

About: Hot on the heels of hosting the 2019 Grammy awards, Alicia Keys is set to bring her soul and melodic R&B hits to the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival as the closing act. The 37-year-old soul singer carved out a unique place for herself in the mainstream, finding success from songs like “Fallin’.” “If I Ain’t Got You” and “My Boo” in her early years. The soul songstress seemed unstoppable in the mid-‘00s, after the blitz of her 2007 album, ‘As I Am,’ including hits like “No One,” “Like You’ll Never See Me Again” and “Go Ahead.” You might also know her through collaborations like “Empire State of Mind” with Jay Z and “Another Way To Die” with Jack White for the 2008 James Bond, film, ‘Quantum of Solace.’ As of today, her discography boasts several prestigious accolades, including 15 Grammys, 9 Billboard Music Awards and 7 BET Awards.
