Global Comedy Fest

Where: Festival arena, Dubai Festival City

When: Thursday, 15th November

About: Have all the laughs at this year’s Global Comedy Fest. There’ll be stand-up by Nigeria’s multi-award winning comedian, Bovi and a line-up of star African comedians, promising to make attendees laugh their hearts out with their racial and observational humour. General admission tickets are available for Dhs 100 and VIP tickets are available for Dhs 300.

‘Waterlicht’ light show at Dubai Creek

Where: Jaddaf waterfront park

When: Thursday, 15th- Friday, 16th November

About: This weekend, Dubai Creek’s Jaddaf waterfront will be submerged in a “virtual flood.” For the last three years, Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde’s light show, ‘Waterlicht’ has been making waves across the world, with public art installations to create an alternate reality flood addressing rising sea levels caused by climate change. The show is free of charge, but you will have to register your attendance.

One Africa Music Fest

Where: Concert arena, Dubai Festival City

When: Friday, 16th November

About: Watch WizKid, the rapper featured on Drake’s 2016 party anthem ‘One Dance’ and a spectacular line-up of talented African music sensations deliver high-energy performances at the annual One Africa Music Fest. The upcoming Dubai edition features over 20 artists from the Afrobeats scene taking the stage at Dubai Festival City’s concert arena. Tickets priced between Dhs 150 to Dhs 400. VIP tables available for Dhs 4000.

CamelPhat and Magdalena live

Where: Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE

When: Friday, 16th November

About: Grammy-nominated duo CamelPhat will be taking over the decks with Blue Marlin regular Magdalena this Friday. The pair will DJ throughout the day playing a Defected set, featuring classic house mixes and their 2017 party anthem, ‘Cola.’ The breakthrough track in collaboration with Elderbook peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s ‘Dance Club Songs’ chart and earned them a Grammy nomination for the ‘Best Dance Recording’ category.

HotBed party

Where: Soho Beach DXB

When: Friday, 16th November

About: Ibiza’s popular HotBed pool party is relatively new to Soho Beach DXB’s partying ecosystem, taking residence every Friday. Expect a set of funky house, live instrumentalists and relaxed vibes while you enjoy a dip in the pool. There’ll be endless entertainment, with performances by resident artists Danny Langan, Zack Le Nez, Alex Ellenge, Matt Saxx and J Walks. About: Las Vegas nightclub export Drai’s is going to be in Flipmode this Friday to celebrate rapper Fabolous’ birthday. The Brooklyn-born rapper ruled the R&B scene through the mid-‘00s with chart hits like “Make Me Better,” “Can’t Deny It” and “Young’n.” Lately, the 40-year old rapper has been creating collaborations with A-listers, including the likes of Ty Dolla $ign, Jadakiss and Chris Brown. du Tough Mudder obstacle at Kite Beach

Where: Kite Beach

When: Saturday, 17th November

About: With three weeks remaining for du Tough Mudder, they’re giving everyone a chance to take part in ‘The Reach Around’ obstacle at Kite Beach. Mudders will be challenged to “reach up and grab hold of something they cannot see, scaling up the face of a structure at a backwards 45-degree angle.” After which, Mudders will be “forced to reach up and around the overhang and pull themselves up and over the top.”

Gulf Car Festival

Where: Festival City

When: Saturday, 17th November

About: Head to the Gulf Car Festival to witness a showcase of flashy cars and stunts this Saturday. The upcoming edition will feature a line-up of Japanese tuners, German exotics and American muscle on display. You can catch live stunts, shows and car launches too. The show begins from 4 pm till 9 pm. Tickets priced between Dhs 45-Dhs 60.
