Politician Mistakes GTA 5 Footage For Real Life

A Pakistani politician, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, became the centre of attention for internet trolls after mistaking GTA 5 footage for real life.

Gaming graphics are, indeed, getting more realistic these days. Look at Grand Theft Auto (GTA) for instance. The difference between Carl Johnson in GTA: San Andreas (2004) and Trevor Philips in GTA 5 (2013) is huge. 

Their graphics team does a great job making the virtual Los Santos look like a real city too.

GTA 5 footage mistaken for real life

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary General for Pakistan’s Awami Tehreek political party, literally thought a three-minute video of GTA 5 posted on youtube, was real life.

The footage shows an airplane narrowly missing a fuel-tanker moments before it stopped on the runway. Here’s what he tweets:
