Imagine ‘90s James Bond star Pierce Brosnan enjoying shawarma, relishing a cup of Karak or hanging out with MBZ, Well, this could happen as he’s heading to Abu Dhabi to shoot his upcoming movie, ‘The Misfits.’
‘The Misfits’ shooting begins on 18th February
Renny Harlin, the actor-turned-director who’s regarded as one of Asia’s most in-demand directors for creating blockbusters like ‘Skiptrace’ and ‘Legend of the Ancient Sword’ will be directing ‘The Misfits.’ The film will be based on the story or criminal Richard Pace, who finds himself caught up in an elaborate gold heist that promises to have far-reaching implications.
Pierce Brosnan joins ‘The Misfits’ cast
Last week, Renny Harlin announced signing Pierce Brosnan for the movie, alongside ‘Sucker Punch’ actress Jamie Chung and Hermione Corfield, who’s been part of blockbuster films like ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi,’ ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ and ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage.’ Speaking of signing the flamboyant James Bond star of the ‘90s, Harlin said, “We are extremely excited to have him on board. Pierce and I have been friends for many years and have been looking for a project to collaborate on for some time. I could not have hoped for a better actor to play our lead.”
Shooting in Abu Dhabi
Most of the shooting is set to take place in the Middle East. Harlin said he was “blown away” by Abu Dhabi after scouting for locations. He said, “After visiting and scouting Abu Dhabi, we were blown away. We all agreed in order to do the film justice, production would have to take place primarily on location in Abu Dhabi rather than L.A., and we set up our base at the spectacular Jumeirah at Etihad Towers.”
