Winter season has arrived and police authorities issued a notification to smartphone users, to stay safe ahead of heavy rains and winds buffeting much of the UAE.
Weather warning issued by police
Smartphone users in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi received a weather warning notification by their respective city-wide police departments after heavy rains hit the country. The message reads “Warning message: Due to bad weather, please take caution while driving on public roads, with our wish of safe driving.”
Heavy rains expected till Tuesday
Be prepared for more rainfall. UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCMS) predicts there may be rainfall across the country till Tuesday, 13th November. The weather is expected to be cloudy and dusty over the two days. Wind speed may reach 45 km/h with convective clouds. Wednesday onward, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy.
NCMS reports the country’s highest mountain peak, Jebel Jais having the lowest temperature, at 18.5°C. They even shared videos of rainfall near Sweihan deserts, showing heavy rainfall and storms. Check it out:
