Got yourself a ticket for the Papal Mass? There’s a bit of good news. People working in the private sector can enjoy a day off to attend the event this Tuesday, 4th February.
135,000 tickets issued for Papal Mass
UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) announced a holiday for Papal Mass ticketholders. This only applies to people working in the private sector, however. Initially, 120,000 tickets were issued at parishes across the country last month, followed by an additional 15,000 tickets last week.
Papal Mass on Tuesday
Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports City Stadium, the Papal Mass venue, will open its gates at 5 am this Tuesday. Ticketholders can make their way to the venue by free shuttle bus service allocated on their ticket’s Access Hub point. Busses will depart from 4 pm this Monday, 4th February from Dubai and from 1:30 am the following night in Abu Dhabi. Ticketholders reaching the venue by car have to reach the ‘Yas Gateway Access Hub’ in Yas Island and take a shuttle bus to the venue. The event begins at 10:30 am.
Private sector holiday announcement in line with national initiative
MOHRE’s holiday announcement for workers in the private sector is in line with this year’s national initiative, ‘Year of Tolerance.’ The Ministry said, “The holiday for permit holders underlines the UAE’s commitment to acceptance and open-mindedness during the Year of Tolerance, and its ongoing dedication to facilitating interfaith dialogue.”
