Public parks and hotel beaches to re-open in Dubai from today

Public parks across Dubai will now reopen for groups of up to five people as the Dubai government relaxes their movement restrictions.

Other outdoor activities including cycling, water sports and sky diving can also resume. But again, groups must be limited to five or less.

The changes come into effect immediately, but social and physical distancing must be observed at all times as public parks reopen across Dubai.

The news was announced by the government’s news agency, WAM. “The updates allow the opening of public parks with strict enforcement of specific preventive measures.”

“These include ensuring gatherings do not exceed five people. In addition, sports and recreational activities will be permitted in open spaces for up to five people, including cycling, water sports and skydiving.”

Dubai hotel beaches to reopen

As we revealed yesterday, hotel beaches are also to re-open across Dubai.

Only hotel guests are allowed to use Dubai hotel beaches. Day passes are still suspended. Hotels will need to maintain social distancing guidelines and protocols. These include…

2m gaps between people
4m distance between different groups of sun-loungers
Beaches must operate at 30% capacity
Maximum group size of 10 people
Guests will need to bring their own face masks and towels
