Ras Al Khaimah’s zipline at Jebel Jais is temporarily closed due to a hailstorm. Drivers and hikers warned not to head for the mountain.

UAE’ highest mountain peak, Jebel Jais is witnessing a hailstorm with heavy rains and extremely cloudy conditions. According to the National Center of Meteorology, the temperature stands at 19.6°, lowest across the country. Find it too good to be true? Check out the video!
Zipline temporarily closed
Ras Al Khaimah‘s zipline has been closed due to dangerous weather conditions. The tourist spot is a popular one among thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies, for its record as the world’s longest zipline (2.83 km). The zipline takes riders on a journey looking over the emirate’s wadis, beaches and deserts.
UAE’s National Center of Meteorology advises people not to head to Jebel Jais. Videos show the roads at the mountain peak as flooded and towering clouds formations making the roads unclear. RAK Police blocked roads leading towards the mountain. Warnings issued on Fujairah’s Wadi Al Seyer, Al Khalibiya and Tibaa too.
