Ramadan sharing fridges are back again and you can make a contribution too

Annual donation campaign ‘Ramadan Sharing Fridges ‘ is happening again during the holy month of Ramadan and they’ve released a map of its fridges.

Campaigns have been going on for two years

Keeping the charitable attitude in mind during the holy month, the Ramadan Sharing Fridges campaign started in 2016 and has since been a reliable source for companies, schools and for families to donate food and drinks. In this campaign, they’ve got 100 fridges across locations in Jebel Ali, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Arabian Ranches, Dubai Sports City, Jumeirah, Al Fahidi and Mirdiff.

Ramadan starting date will be announced tonight

Predictions for the starting day of the holy month were between 15th -20th May. Last week, Oman’s Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs announced 17th May whilst according to Visit Kuwait, an astronomer predicted 20th July. Today, UAE’s Minister of Justice and the moon sighting committee will announce the official starting date after Maghrib(sunset).

Six iftar canons will be placed across the city

Iftar will be marked by canons fired by Dubai Police across areas including Madinat Jumeirah, Burj Khalifa, Deira, City Walk, Al Mamzar, Jumeirah Beach Residence and Al Karama. The canons are loud enough to be heard by as far as 10 kms.
