England were playing in the Rugby World Cup last week so we headed out to one of our top 7 places to watch the match. We love Perry & Blackwelder’s Original Smokehouse for it’s huge menu, guaranteed to satisfy hungry sports fans.
We were definitely in the mood for a feast and P&B did not disappoint. During the Rugby World Cup, the restaurant has plenty of promotions to take advantage of, and you can bet there’s something for every appetite.
For AED 85, you can get yourself an All-Day, All-American breakfast, which comes with all the usual suspects. Sausage, black pudding, baked beans, hash browns and the rest! If you fancy a breakfast but the full on selection is not your thing, there are some great alternatives, including the Western Omelette which comes packed with ingredients, or the Baked Apple Texas Toast. Ideal if you’ve got a sugar craving to satisfy. It’s not all American style either, you can grab a traditional English muffin with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, with plenty of side options such as meat, spinach or smoked salmon.
More than just breakfast
There’s more besides breakfast. We could go on and on, the menu is huge at P&B’s, but since it’s the World Cup, it would be a crime not to mention their ‘Manwich’. Aptly named after the man credited with inventing rugby, the Webb Ellis Manwich is a ‘meat extravaganza’. You’re sure to get your protein fix with this sandwich, which is stacked high with various meaty treats. Topped off with a fried egg, caramelised onions and cheese, you can’t argue with the price at AED 75. Wash it down with a tea or coffee for an extra 4 dirhams.
If you literally can’t get enough meat, P&B’s Band of Glory offer is also on throughout the World Cup. You can get unlimited chicken wings from kick-off to final whistle for AED 199. We tried out the brisket, which had been smoked for 22 hours. It was amazing.
All of the P&B promotions are available with a line up of drinks deals. You can get buckets, bottles and pitchers of various beverages at special prices starting from AED 99.
We have to admit, we were feeling greedy when we paid the smokehouse a visit, so we didn’t stop at just main courses. We topped off our meal with a chocolate brownie banana split, caramel profiteroles and a mega ice-cream Sunday that was bigger than our own fat faces.
Safe to say, we left P&B’s feeling absolutely stuffed and looking like we’d just played 80 minutes of rugby ourselves.
Talking of rugby, we had a great view of the game throughout our entire meal, thanks to ample screens positioned all around P&B’s restaurant. So if you’re in the mood for good food, at a great price, with pretty much 360 degree TV screens, P&B’s is a winner.
