Expo 2020 Dubai is all about looking to the future: which is why there will be 152 robots on-site to guide you around!
The robots have been programmed for a wide range of tasks.
There are robots who will meet and greet you. Robots who will help lost visitors. And even robots to make your coffee!
“The emergence of robots will help humanity eliminate repetitive mundane tasks, leading to improved human experiences and increased industrial operating efficiency,” says Victor Ali, Founder and CEO of Terminus Group who are behind the robots.
In total, there will be five different robots at Expo 2020 Dubai to make your life easier and improve your visit.
And no, you can’t take a ride on them.
Meet the robots
The robots were developed and made in China before being shipped to Dubai.
The robot you’ll see the most is the 1m-tall Opti robot, specially designed for Expo 2020. It will interact and entertain tourists and can operate for nearly 24 hours.
And he looks like this – very friendly!
Less friendly-looking, but just as important, is the Patrol robot.
They’re equipped with an HD facial recognition camera, real-time thermal camera and an SOS button. They’ll be on hand to help with social distancing during the six-month event.
Our favourite might be the Attendant robots, however. They have impressive language skills and can communicate by voice and their multi-touch graphical user. And they’ll guide you to where you want to go in the Expo 2020 Dubai park.
