Dubai is all set to host Roger Federer, Simona Halep and a stunning line-up of ATP and WTA players at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships from 17th-23rd February 2019.

Roger Federer back in action

World number three Roger Federer will feature in the upcoming Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships after missing the 2018 edition. Despite faltering in the semi-final at the ATP World Tour to Alexander Zverev last year, the 37-year-old champion will be full of confidence as he makes a comeback to ATP Dubai for his eighth title. His last victory was in 2015, defeating Serbian Tennis ace Novak Djokovic 6–3, 7–5.

Elina Svitolina returns as defending champion

Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina enjoyed a strong end to the 2018 season, earning titles in Singapore, Brisbane and the prestigious season-ending WTA Finals. The world number four returns to Dubai as the two-time defending champion and will be eyeing a hat-trick of WTA Dubai titles. In the last season finale, she eased to victory after defeating Russia’s Daria Kasatkina, 6–4, 6–0.

Naomi Osaka, Andy Murray, Simona Halep among big names in 2019 line-up

Among other worthy contenders will be Naomi Osaka, who stunned the Tennis world after defeating Serena Williams 6-2, 6-4 in the US Open. The 21-year-old Japanese Tennis star joins world number one Simona Halep, Angelique Kerber, Caroline Wozniacki, Karolina Pliskova, Petra Kvitova, Kiki Bertens, Daria Kasatkina and Elina Svitolina for the WTA championship. Meanwhile, groundstroker Andy Murray will be looking to repeat his 2017 success, competing against Marin Cilic, Kei Nishikori, Karen Kachanov, Borna Coric, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Roger Federer for the ATP championship.

Besides the on-field action, tennis fans can head to the Irish Village and enjoy live entertainment, music and win tickets. All of Irish Village, from its entrance to the tip of the bars, will be filled with huge TV screens streaming the live action and hosting competitions with sought-after finals tickets up for grabs.

Tickets sales of Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships begins online at 9 am and will be made available at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium Ticket Box office from 28th January onwards, between 9 am-9 pm. All matches between day one to the first half of day four cost Dhs 55, followed by tickets priced between Dhs 160-315 between day four to day six. WTA finals tickets cost Dhs 370 and ATP finals tickets cost Dhs 475. You can purchase them here.
