RTA has announced a new paid parking zone in Dubai

Al Khail Gate will now be a paid parking by Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) due to frequent complains about lack of parking available at night.

Complains were raised again non residential motorists.

Motorists from nearby industrial areas used Al Khail’s parking facilities to enjoy free parking and would go on to park for hours and (probably) days, leading to lack of parking spaces for motorists residing in the area.

Jumeirah Lakes Towers was recently made a paid parking zone too.

Last December, the Jumeirah Lakes Towers locality was made a paid parking zone with price ranging from 4 dhs to 10 dhs, to increase the availability of parking spaces for visitors. Being categorized as a ‘smart locality’ by Dubai Multi Commodities Center Authority (DMCC), motorists can only pay either by the RTA Dubai mobile app or by SMS.

RTA is improving road and parking infrastructure for motorists.

Recently, RTA completed and opend the Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan road, situated between Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road, making it easier for motorists driving from Sharjah to Dubai and helping reduce traffic on other freeways and main roads. The road is 50 kilometers long and consists of eight lane. It costed Dhs 474 million.
RTA is yet to implement the parking meters at Al Khail Gate. To learn more, go to
