SeaWorld is set to arrive in Abu Dhabi in 2022 as part of the Yas Island complex.
Yas Island is already a go-to destination for days and nights out with Ferrari World, Waterworld and Warner Bros. And there’s going to be a new reason to make the trip to Yas Island as it’s been confirmed Sea World is opening in a few years.
CEO of Miral Asset Management Mohamed Al Zaabi confirmed the news. “Our next attraction will be Sea World. We’re at a very advanced stage of the design and we are on track to finish the construction by 2022.”
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi will be the first SeaWorld attraction outside of America and the first without orcas.
Some have even reported that SeaWorld Abu Dhabi will have virtual orcas!
Sea World Abu Dhabi will also have an R4 Centre to focus on research, rescue, rehabilitation and return. The centre will be the first of its kind in the country and will help preserve and protect local marine life.
One of the park’s aims is to “educate and inspire visitors by bringing them up close to marine life on two dimensions, through an immersive marine life themed park and a dedicated marine research centre.”
