Shark leaps out of the water to bite paraglider’s foot in the red sea

Taking to the water is one way to avoid the summer heat, but you might want to think twice after watching this video of a man being bitten by a shark in the Red Sea.

The 37-year-old Jordanian man was casually enjoying his parasailing in Aqaba in the Red Sea. Then all of a sudden his sun and sea was interrupted by a shark!

He was just above the water when the shark leapt out of the water and snapped at his leg. He managed to keep most of his leg – just a bit of his foot was snapped off, while the shark also snapped several tendons.

We’re not sure his heart rate will ever recover though!

The victim was quickly rushed to the Prince Hashem Military Hospital for treatment. While the Red Sea shark probably searched for the main course after he’d had his foot starter.

Mohammad Qatawneh from the Aqaba International Dive Centre told local media that shark attacks in the Gulf of Aqaba are rare.

‘I’ve been diving for 20 years and this is the first time I’ve heard of a shark attack.’
