The Dubai government is to ease restrictions from Wednesday, with gyms and cinemas to re-open and the nightly curfew to start at 11 pm.
The changes come in effect from Wednesday, May 27 with the new curfew timings from 6 am to 11 pm.
The government also listed a range of other activities and retail that are now re-open including trips to the dentist, entertainment destinations like an ice rink and cinemas. Licensed restaurants in Dubai have also been given the green light to serve alcohol.
Gyms can open at 50% capacity. And everyone will be tested for their temperature, with those above 37.5 degrees not allowed. Face masks must be worn at all times. And changing rooms, waiting areas and showers will remain closed.
Everyone is responsible
Sheikh Hamdan made a statement on Monday night where he outlined the move and the new curfew timings in Dubai.
“Everyone is responsible. What makes us different is our ability to deal positively with changes and our agility.”
“We have all the elements necessary to adapt to these challenging circumstances. I am confident that all members of society will come together to overcome this crisis as soon as possible,” Sheikh Hamdan said.
