Sheikh Hamdan looks on as Dubai Police practise Dubai Metro hostage situation

Ace TV show 24 came to real-life with Sheikh Hamdan looking on as Dubai Police practised dealing with a hostage situation on the Dubai Metro.

A black ops team took on a hostage crisis simulation in a Dubai Metro cabin as Sheikh Hamdan watched on.

Security forces quickly dealt with the situation. And Sheikh Hamdan was quick to praise the UAE security sector who he described as some the “most advanced globally”.

The high-energy action all took place inside a metro station. And HH also visited the operations room, laboratory and Smart Station training facility as part of his visit.

The event was also a World Record (obvs), as it included the most transport security experts in a workshop.

New waterpark opens in Dubai

If that’s all a little high octane for you, chill out at this new Dubai waterpark.

Jungle Bay is set to open in January 2021 at Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina.

And while it’s smaller than Aquaventure and the nearby Wild Wadi, there are plenty of big rides and slides! And thanks to the more compact size, the queues are likely to be a lot smaller. Which is a winner in our book!

The family-friendly water park will have something for kids and adults of every age in Dubai. Kids and toddlers will love the AquaPlay area with special kids’ slides and water shooters.

But the real action is on the three 130m-long slides. Located at the top of a lighthouse, the slides include the Whizzard and the Body Slides which include a surprise high-speed drop. There’s also a 6m wave pool and the Refuel Cafe & Bar for when you need to take a breather.
