Sheikh Hamdan surprises Dubai students at their graduation

Hundreds of university graduates in Dubai got the surprise of their life when they received a message from Sheikh Hamdan during their graduation ceremony.

The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University was holding a virtual ceremony for their PhD learners. And HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai surprised 516 graduates when he sent a surprise message during the live virtual broadcast.

The University was celebrating the first batch of PhD graduates for blockchain technology. The HBMSU is the first Arab university to adopt blockchain technology and embrace the technological revolution.

And Sheikh Hamdan was quick to jump on board and congratulate the students on their achievements during the live-streamed event.

“So happy to share in the excitement of your graduation day, it is my pleasure to assure you that your HBMSU is very proud of you, and your well-deserved success. Best wishes for a bright future.”

Sheikh Mohammed wants Dubai to be the best city in the world by 2040

Sheikh Mohammed today announced plans to make Dubai the greatest city in the world thanks to the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai announced the news via Twitter.

Big plans

The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan has some seriously ambitious goals.

It aims to provide housing options and solutions for the expected 5.8m population in 20 years. And it plans to add 400% more public beaches across the city.

The 2040 plan also intends to double the green spaces in the city and add more protected and natural areas to make up 60% of the urban landscape.
