Sheikh Mohammed says Dubai one of the ‘safest cities on earth’ thanks to its 300,000 cameras

Dubai is watched around the clock by more than 300,000 cameras making it one of the world’s safest cities according to Sheikh Mohammed.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai made the comments earlier today on a tour of the Dubai Police headquarters.

Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on some of the cutting-edge AI used by Dubai Police. Computers can now distribute “security patrols in Dubai according to economic and tourism importance without human intervention.”

Which is pretty amazing when you stop to think about it.

Sheikh Mohammed was also briefed on the ‘Eyes’ project which monitors more than 300,000 cameras in Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed also revealed more details on security in Dubai.

Dubai Police are launching Drone Box which can reduce response times to criminal and traffic reports to just one minute.

The service will officially launch during Expo 2020 Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed to give away 100,000 Golden Visas to coders

Some great news if you’re into coding and digital innovation as the UAE is giving away 100,000 Golden Visas to coders from across the world.

It’s all part of the National Program for Coders led by his Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,

The National Program is aiming to attract ‘100,000 entrepreneurs, owners of enterprises, and start-ups specialised in coding’ to the UAE.

So heads up coders, you’re future probably lies in the UAE!

The UAE is heavily investing in technology for the future.

Coding is at the heart of computing power and essentially creates instructions for computers to follow.

There may be as many as 20 million software developers in the world. So by offering Golden Visas to 100,000 of the best, the UAE is making a serious power play.
