After five months of being banned, smoking shisha is once again allowed in Dubai as more Coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
Shisha cafes in Dubai are once again allowed to serve customers – DubaiLAD will have a double apple please – as long as they follow all the rules and regulations. In total, there are 34 regulations from the Dubai Municipality!
Social distancing must be strictly observed and there will be regular inspections on all shisha cafes.
Staff must wear masks at all times and clean pipes and hookahs after every use.
And only disposable shisha hoses can be used and groups are not allowed to sit together. All groups must be 2m apart and temperatures taken on the way into the cafe.
Shisha one of the first items to be banned
Due to the natural tendency to share shisha, smoking it in public was one of the first items to be banned following the Coronavirus outbreak. Shisha was restricted on March 12 in Dubai followed by a nation-wide ban the next day.
