Some nightclubs in Dubai can re-open to vaccinated guests with table service but dancing is still off the menu until June at the earliest.
After months of restrictions, Dubai re-opened up a lot of the entertainment industry including giving the green light to live events. Bars and brunches were also given the go-ahead while hotels can once again operate at full capacity.
But while some nightclubs can reopen across Dubai, they can do so with table service only. And dance floors have to remain closed, a Dubai Media Office spokesperson told The National. So don’t start practising your disco dancing quite yet!
Clubs have been closed in Dubai since January. And the only nightclubs that will be allowed to reopen are those which hold a bar or pub trade license.
As previously mentioned, all staff – including DJs and entertainers – and visitors must have had the Covid-19 vaccine. This is most likely going to be monitored via the Al Hosn tracing app.
The new entertainment rules are being run on a month-long trial basis and will be reviewed in June.
Other rules being relaxed are that 10 people can sit to a table in restaurants while six can sit together in coffee shops.
Two rules that remain are that all residents need to observe social distancing of 2m. And wearing face masks continues to be ‘mandatory.’
