Temperatures over 50°C recorded in the shade in the UAE

As if you didn’t know, summer is very much here in the UAE with temperatures soaring to over 50°C in the shade.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) recorded temperatures of 50.9°C yesterday in the Dhafrah region of Abu Dhabi. And that temperature was recorded in the shade.

That’s seriously hot!

And this next Tweet puts the temperatures in the UAE into perspective.

The coldest temperature on the same day was a still pretty warm 25.5°C. Which is considered a pretty warm day for most of the world.

But the 50.9°C temperature recorded was not even the hottest it’s been this year.

That record went to Al Ain which nudged slightly higher at 51°C earlier this summer.

Oh the joys of living in the UAE during the summer!

As for what’s coming up, the forecast is looking hot, hazy and humid.

Expect high temperatures into the 40s and some cloud cover.

UAE sprint star runs in the Olympic 100m this Saturday

Hopefully, the weather is good when UAE sprint star Hassan Al Noubi lines up in the 100m sprint at the Olympics this weekend.

He runs in the 100m heats on Saturday at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium.

And you’re going to have to set your alarms as his heat is at 6 am!

The 100m is the most prestigious event at the Olympics. And as the UAE national 100m and 200m champion, Al Noubi is our best hope.
