The next public holiday in Dubai is just around the corner

Happy days as the next UAE public holiday is coming up very soon!

The next public holiday is scheduled to be the Prophet Muhammed’s (PBUH) Birthday on Thursday, October 29.

Workers in the public and private sector will get the day off work, meaning you get to enjoy a three-day weekend.

The next public holidays after that fall in a short period of time.

Commemoration Day will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 1. And that will be followed by two days off for the UAE’s 49th National Day celebrations. Which – maths fans – means a whopping five-day weekend.

UAE aims for the Moon

We’d imagine there will be another public holiday when the UAE lands on the moon in 2024!

The UAE announced its latest out-of-this-world mission with the Emirates Lunar Mission which will land a space rover on the moon by 2024.

The news was announced by Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The lander Rover will be called Rashid, named after the former Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

Made in the UAE

Impressively, the lander will be 100% build and constructed in the UAE. And the UAE will become the first country from the Arab world to explore the moon. And just the fourth in history!

“The lunar explorer will send data and images for the first time from new lunar regions that will be shared with local & international research centres,” said Sheikh Mohamed.
