The UAE’s Paralympic heroes return home

The UAE Paralympic team who won several medals at the Tokyo event have been welcomed home by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The team competed over five sports including athletics, shooting, powerlifting, wheelchair racing and cycling.

And they won three medals at the Tokyo Paralympics. Yes yes yes!

Abdulla Sultan Alaryani won the Men’s R7 50m Rifle Gold while there was a double success on the athletics track. And indeed double success for one man!

Mohamed Alhammadi won bronze in the Men’s 100m T34 event. And he followed that up by winning silver in the Men’s 800m T34 event.

And His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Tweeted his congratulations to the team on their ‘remarkable achievements in Tokyo.’

The DubaiLAD team want to double down on that. What an amazing achievement!

Alaryani’s Gold medal was a continuation of his fine form at the most recent Paralympic events. He won silver in the London 2012 event. And then Gold in Rio 2016.

And he now has a second gold to go in his collection.
