The Week Ahead: Your Guide To Dubai Top Events

It’s already the final week of Sheikh Hamdan’s Dubai Fitness Challenge and the countdown for Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has begun. We’ve got your plans sorted with our guide to this week’s top events.

Sunday, 18th November: ‘Leto’ screening at Cinema Akil

Based on a true story, ‘Leto’ revisits the underground rock scene with renowned band Zoopark in St. Petersburg (then Leningrad), ahead of the Perestroika political movement in the Soviet Union during the ‘80s. The film depicts how the band was formed by rock legends Viktor Zoi and Mike Naumenko, who would set off to revolutionize the face of Russian rock music forever. Tickets are available for Dhs 52.50. Screening begins at 10 pm.

Monday, 19th November: Hip-Hop with Frank at Toy Room Dubai

Party at Meydan’s hottest clubbing hotspot, Toy Room Dubai this Monday. It’s a ladies night, meaning all the women can enjoy a free flow of beverages until 1 am. Homegrown band Monteath will take the stage at Meydan’s party destination, Soho Garden this Tuesday. Wednesday, 21st November: Dubai Sports Council D3 challenge

With Dubai Fitness Challenge in its final week, Dubai Sports Council is inviting residents to take part in a 30-minute challenge at Dubai Design District. Participants can test their limits by running five kilometres across the design quarter. Race begins at 4 pm. Free admission for all. Click here for more information.

Thursday, 22nd November: Nelly live at Mad On Yas

Superclub Mad On Yas is kicking off the F1 weekend with one of Hip-Hop’s finest artists, Nelly. With a smooth and melodic rap style, the 44-year-old rapper attained global recognition with chart-topping classics like ‘Hot In Herre’ and ‘Ride Wit Me.’ Entry charge costs Dhs 300 for lads, including two beverages and Dhs 150 for ladies, including one beverage.

Friday, 23rd November: Dubai Inflatathon

Get ready to jump, crawl and bounce your way through a series of inflatables at the upcoming Inflatathon. This edition features ten enormous obstacles spanning a distance of up to four kilometres. Whether you finish first or last, they’re throwing a festival-style party, with live music, dance floor and plenty of entertainment facilities. Tickets are priced between Dhs 200 to Dhs 400.

Saturday, 24th November: Sylvain Armand and Jean Claude Ades live at Iris Yas Island

Coming all the way from Ibiza’s party ecosystem, are Ushuaia regulars Sylvain Armand and El Chiringuito favourite Jean Claude Ades. Sylvain Armand has opened for Axwell ^ Ingrosso at Ushuaia Ibiza for four years straight, while Jean Claude Ades has been a key fixture at super clubs like Pacha, Amnesia and El Chiringuito. Entry charges cost Dhs 300 for lads and Dhs 200 for ladies, inclusive of two beverages.
