Close to 100 parents, concerned about their children, queued up outside GEMS Wellington School Al Khail, after a suspicious incident was reported, involving “an unidentified individual.” The school was put into a lockdown and Dubai Police was soon alerted to investigate the incident.
Mother entered school to teach cleaners “how to clean properly”
Dubai Police tweeted the reason behind the lockdown. They said, “The woman (a parent in her 30s) entered the school wearing a medical mask and carrying some cleaning powder and detergents in a bid to participate in cleaning the school and show the school’s cleaners ‘how to clean properly’.”
Dubai Police rubbishes rumour regarding student’s safety
Following the incident, Dubai Police reaffirmed the students’ safety at the school. They call upon the public “to disregard any rumours regarding the safety and security of the emirate.”
