Sharjah now has its own Horror House including a guided spooky tour where you’ll meet djinns, ghouls and famous Emirati horror characters.
The traditional palm frond house has been turned into a full-on Horror House. It’s alive with ghosts and spirits from UAE myths and folklore and is full of twists and turns and frights and surprises!
Once you enter the house, you’re assaulted with eerie smoke, strange noises, spooky light effects and some truly hideous sights. Including Abu Salasel, a red-skinned creature covered in metal chains. And you’ll also come face-to-face with Baba Daryah, a haunted male ghost who stalked fishermen at night.
The Horror House show is running as part of the Sharjah Heritage Days show until Saturday. And, says one of the show’s creators Talal Al Balushi, it’s designed to showcase Emirati culture.
“We devised this experience as a game for children and families, as a way to relieve the old stories of Emirati folklore we grew up hearing, and to let people experience them in a theatrical way.”
Are you brave enough to venture out of your comfort zone and check out the Horror House?
