Ras Al Khaimah Police are investigating the case of a thief, who’s been accused of stealing a motorist’s money and number plates and fitting them on his vehicle.
Number plate and cash theft
The thief was caught with, not only one but multiple stolen vehicle registration plates, issued by the traffic department from another emirate. The thief, identified as an Arab man, has been slapped with a slew of charges, for faking his identity and stealing another person’s money, according to Khaleej Times.
Thief on trial
When presented to the court, the defendant denied stealing money from the complainant or from anyone, neither did he fake anyone’s identity. He also claimed his vehicle number plate has nothing to do with theft, stating he registered his vehicle in another emirate.
So far, the case stands as adjourned for a later date. Although the complainant claims the thief has stolen his money and identity, the defendant rejects the accusation and says, “I did not pose as another person or steal any money from anyone.” The next hearing date is yet to be announced.
