It’s been easy to go over-the-top on Christmas this year as we’ve had a year to forget, but one Dubai house has gone all-in on Christmas with nine trees and a real gingerbread kitchen.
The Watsons have turned their five-bedroom Dubai villa in Jumeirah Islands into a Christmas sanctuary.
Work started on the decorations on November 20 and took two weeks to put together.
The house is now loaded with festive cheer, with nine – yes, nine – real Christmas trees. The biggest of which is 3m high and decked out in gold and turquoise.
They’ve also spent AED10,000 on decorations and on Nutcracker figurines.
Creator Cherry Watson told The National she had loved Christmas decorations since she was a little girl.
“It’s an investment. I’m going to be bringing out the same decorations next year and the next, and just keep adding to it. I’m lucky that the house is big enough to accommodate everything, and that I have a garage for storage.”
