Tom Cruise in talks with NASA to create Hollywood film in outer space

What an amazing headline for these weird Coronavirus times – yes, Tom Cruise is set to team up with NASA to create the first film ever in outer space.

According to NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine on Twitter, Tom Cruise will film aboard the ISS. And Elon Musk, never far from the news, is also involved in the project.

“Nasa is excited to work with Tom Cruise on a film aboard the Space Station!,” Nasa administrator Jim Bridenstine wrote on Twitter.

“We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make Nasa’s ambitious plans a reality.”

The proposed film is still in its very early stages. But if it comes off, it would be the first film ever to be shot entirely in outer space. We can see the reviews now: New Tom Cruise space film lacks atmosphere.

And while we’re here talking about Tom Cruise, it’s a good time to revisit him climbing up the Burj Khalifa. The 57-year-old daredevil film star loves to do his own stunts. Filming for Mission Impossible 7 was put on hold in February due to the Coronavirus epidemic in Italy where they were filming.
